Welcome to EE Explore on Unsettling Entrepreneurship Education!
The event will take place on Thursday 28th January 2021 from 16-17.30 (CET). The facilitators will be Karin Berglund, Ulla Hytti & Karen Verduijn.
The event will build on a recent Special Issue in Entrepreneurship Education & Pedagogy (EE&P), vol. 3, issue 3. A link to the SI https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/2515127420921480
In this Special Issue, authors reflect on and resist the tendency to see students as consumers with the ‘right’ to take part in entrepreneurship education and to effectively shape their enterprising selves. The necessity to keep on reflecting on unsettling entrepreneurship education became apparent also through the ongoing present-day Covid-19 crisis, which suddenly changed the pedagogical scene and put forward the need to move our pedagogical aspirations of unsettling to a digital platform and online teaching. To frame the need for continuous reflection, we suggest that this crisis can teach us something as valuable as ‘standing still’, and can help us to reconsider what kind of entrepreneurial society we build together with our students via entrepreneurship education. Perhaps there is a need not to unsettle but rather ‘resettle’ society, and entrepreneurship education, into a new direction?

In the event selected participants are pitching their paper, based on the theme Pedagogical Interventions in Entrepreneurship Education, followed by a digital roundtable discussion.
There is growing acknowledgement that educational systems and methods need to move from traditional to more creative, interactive and student-centered educational models in order to change students’ mindset so they may excel in highly dynamic and uncertain environments. Yet, the issue of the most effective pedagogical method to encourage the development of an entrepreneurial mindset is an area that raises regular discussion and debates, as well as calls for further exploration. In this event we will be exploring different types of pedagogical interventions that can be used to enhance students’ entrepreneurial mindset.
As moderators for the event we have the pleasure of presenting Associate professor Karen Williams Middleton and Senior Lecturer Gustav Hägg.

EE Explore is a series of online events in entrepreneurship education organized jointly with ECSB and Engage, the host of 3E 2021 Conference.
Storytelling has different functions in entrepreneurship: in research, learning and entrepreneurial practice. Professor Helle Neergaard from Aarhus University will facilitate the session on storytelling in entrepreneurial classroom featuring Santa and his reindeer.
This special Christmas time EE Explore event will take place on Thursday December 17th at 2pm (CET). All the registered participants will receive a recipe to prepare some gløgg/glögg/glögi – a Nordic hot beverage for the Christmas season – to enjoy while joining the EE Explore webinar.
This is the third event in a series of events that Engage – Centre for Engaged Education through Entrepreneurship together with ECSB has launched online.
The 3E Conference 2021 will be either online, hybrid or physical in Trondheim, Norway depending on the situation. This year there are two calls, one for research papers and one for practitioner development workshops – PDWs. Each author can appear in maximum of 2 abstracts/proposals. Regardless of the submission, the focus on questions, challenges and problems should be central throughout. All submitted proposals will be double blind peer-reviewed and feedback provided on submissions.

ECSB and Engage – Centre for Engaged Education through Entrepreneurship launch EE Explore – an online event series. The first event will be organised around the theme “Developing entrepreneurial mindsets through education” and will take place on the 24th of September at 3 pm (CET). This will be a digital roundtable discussion based on the abstracts submitted to the 3E 2020 where invited participants have pitch their ideas (3 minutes). The pitches will be followed by a moderated dialogue on how to move the teaching and research within this theme forward. The discussion will be moderated by professor Andrew Corbett and professor Jeffery S. McMullen. Corbett holds a position as professor at Babson College and is a visiting professor at Nord University Business School, Bodø. McMullen is a professor in strategic entrepreneurship at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Reminder: Please also note that the special issue ‘Students creating Ventures in Higher Education: Nascent Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship Students’ connected to 3E 2020 is proceeding as planned. Engage is organizing an online paper development workshop in the end of week 37 (tentatively September 10th) for those of you who intend to submit a manuscript to the special issue. In order to participate in the workshop, you should submit a manuscript draft (at least an extended abstract) within the scope of the special issue by the 1st of July to firstname.lastname@example.org.
